The Wheatstone Project produces hydrocarbon fluids from the offshore Wheatstone and Iago fields, which are transported to the Wheatstone platform for initial processing. The platform also receives fluids from the Julimar Development Project, operated by Woodside Energy Julimar Pty Ltd.
Gas and condensate are transported from the platform through a pipeline to an onshore gas plant near Onslow, WA, for further processing. Resultant LNG and condensate is exported by vessels to the international market, and gas is made available to the domestic market via a tie-in with the existing Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline.
Activities offshore include operation of the platform and subsea infrastructure, well intervention activities for the producing wells with either a Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) or vessel, and infill drilling of up to5 wells.
The offshore fields and platform are located around 165 km from the Pilbara coast of WA, 75 km north of Barrow Island and 40 km north-west of the Montebello Islands.
