The geophysical company Dolphin Geophysical Ltd (Dolphin) proposes to acquire multi-client (MC) three-dimensional (3D) and two-dimensional (2D) marine seismic surveys, within the Roebuck Basin offshore from Western Australia (WA). The Greater Pina Colada (GPC) Phase II MC MSS is an extension of GPC MC MSS EP (Phase I) that was accepted by NOPSEMA on 24th June 2015.
The GPC Phase II MC MSS will comprise acquisition of approximately (~) 15,200 km2 of 3D seismic data and a single ~150 km 2D tie line in Exploration Permits WA 435-P, WA 436-P, WA 437-P, WA 464-P, WA 479-P, WA-480-P, WA 482-P, WA 487-P; 2015 acreage release W15-05; and open acreage. This survey area is contained within the larger operational area (which is ~ 29, 400 km2).
At its closest point, seismic acquisition activities are ~ 4 km from the waters of the Mermaid Reef Commonwealth Marine Reserve and more than 9 km from the 250 m contour of Mermaid Reef. The operational area abuts (does not overlap) the waters of the Rowley Shoals Marine Park, however, actual acquisition activities shall be more than 6 km from the 250 m contour of the Shoals.
This Environment Plan (EP) will be valid for a period of up to ~16 months to the end of 2016.
