Activity Description |
---|
Woodside proposes to undertake the following petroleum activities within Permit Area WA-28-L: • The removal of infrastructure above the mudline including manifolds, flowlines, umbilicals, mooring chains, and spools. • Leave in-situ of 10 anchors, each including a section of mooring chain which are completely buried below the seabed. • Contingency partial leave in-situ of manifold suction piles if determined not ALARP and acceptable to fully remove. • Inspection, monitoring, maintenance and repair (IMMR) activities, as required, until decommissioning activities are completed. The proposed Petroleum Activities Program is planned to occur between 2022 and 2024 and will take up to 12 months cumulatively. Activities may occur during one or multiple campaigns. The potential for concurrent operations with other decommissioning activities is assessed and managed in the EP. When ongoing, activities will be 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Timing and duration of these activities is subject to change due to project schedule requirements, vessel availability, unforeseen circumstances and weather. This EP has risk-assessed activities throughout the year (all seasons) to provide operational flexibility. The Petroleum Activities Program is located in Commonwealth waters in the Exmouth Sub-basin. It is located approximately 38 km north of the North West Cape of Western Australia in water depths of approximately 400 - 600 m. The Petroleum Activities Program does not overlap with any established or proposed marine protected areas. The closest sensitive habitats are the Ningaloo and Gascoyne Australian Marine Parks, both approximately 16 km from the boundary of the Operational Area. |
