Description

Hess is committed to the exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources in the Northern Carnarvon Basin and currently holds petroleum titles WA-474-P and WA-390-P. The proposed Hess Geophysical Geotechnical Campaign will acquire data to inform development concepts and engineering design for the potential commercialisation of petroleum discoveries. The GPGT Campaign will be conducted entirely in Commonwealth waters off Western Australia.
The operational activities associated with the GPGT Campaign are proposed to commence from January 2016 and continue intermittently over a period of up to five (5 years). The GPGT Campaign will consist of a series of offshore surveys anticipated to take up several weeks complete, dependent on weather conditions and operational requirements. The vessel-based activities will take place 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The timing of the offshore surveys will depend on vessel and equipment availability and prevailing weather conditions. This EP has accounted for the Activity occurring in all seasons.
The Activity will likely require different vessels, due to the nature, timing and location of each activity. Only one survey vessel will be conducting an activity at any one time. Crew change/transfers will be undertaken via helicopter. Resupply and opportunistic crew change/transfers, if necessary, will be undertaken via the vessel returning to nearest port.
