Description

The Stybarrow Facility produces crude oil from the Stybarrow and Eskdale reservoirs via a single stand-alone Floating Production Storage and Offloading Facility {the Stybarrow Venture MV16 FPSO). The Stybarrow Facility is located in Commonwealth waters approximately 51 km north-west of the North West Cape of Western Australia and approximately 30 km north-west of the northern boundary of Ningaloo Marine Park (Commonwealth Waters) and approximately SS km west-north-west of Exmouth. Production commenced from the Stybarrow Facility in November 2007. Water depth in the operational area varies from approximately 700 m in the east to 1,000 min the west. The Stybarrow Faci lity, including the FPSO location, wellheads, pipeline route and the gas-injection well, are protected from third party vessels and shipping activities by a restricted area. Gazetted exclusion and cautionary zones are marked on nautical charts surrounding the Stybarrow FPSO and subsea facilities of 500 m and 2.5 nm (4.6 km) respectively under the Offshore OPGGSA (Part 6.6: " Safety zones and the area to be avoided"). Vessels are not permitted to enter the exclusion zone without the consent of the Stybarrow Facility OIM. An additional zone of 5 nautical miles is in place around the Facility within which contracted vessels must seek approval from the Stybarrow Facility OIM before entering.
The Stybarrow Facility consists of 6 production wells, 2 gas lift wells, 1 gas injection and 2 water injection wells. Water depths across the permit area range from 700 to 1,000 m. The Stybarrow Facility will cease operations by the end of CY2015.
The scope of this EP includes the following activities within the Sty barrow Facility operational area as designated in Figure 1-1.

reservoir as a gas reinjection reservoir, including flow lines, risers, manifolds, subsea trees, umbilicals; and mid water and
spider buoys;
Support vessels and helicopters operating within t he operational area.
Preparation of cessation activities including final well testing, flowline flushing and disconnection of the FPSO.
Activities associated with the above included in the scope of the EP include:
