Woodside is submitting a 5-year revision of the Goodwyn Alpha (GWA) Facility EP, in accordance with the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Environment) Regulations 2023.

The GWA facility is located in Commonwealth waters on the North West Shelf (NWS) of Western Australia (WA), and the GWA platform is situated approximately 138 km northwest of Dampier and 23 km south-west of North Rankin Complex (NRC). The facility commenced operation in 1995.

The GWA facility produces dry gas and condensate from a series of reservoirs via associated subsea infrastructure. These fluids are initially processed by the GWA facility before being exported via the interfield line (IFL) to the Karratha Gas Plant (KGP) for further processing. The facility was originally commissioned as an integrated platform supporting drilling, production, utilities, and accommodation. However, the GWA facility no longer has drilling capability, and drilling activities are not included within the scope of this EP.

The revised EP is being revised and resubmitted to integrate the operation of new wells drilled and a pipeline installed under the Greater Western Flank 4 (GWF-4) infill EP.

The following activities are proposed to occur within production licenses WA-1-L, WA-5-L, WA-6-L, WA-23-L, WA-24-L, WA-57-L, WA-7-R and pipeline licences WA-2-PL, WA-9-PL, WA-13-PL, WA-24-PL, WA-27-PL, and the new Wilcox pipeline licence .
• routine production
• routine inspection, monitoring, maintenance and repair (IMMR) of the platform and associated subsea infrastructure
• well clean-up and commissioning
• platform well intervention, workovers and well kill activities
• non-routine and unplanned activities and incidents associated with the above.

The GWA facility will operate 24 hours a day for the 5-year duration of this EP. The GWA platform is marked on nautical maps surrounded by a 500 m petroleum safety zone (exclusion zone) to shipping.
