The Project area is production licence WA-50-L, which is located in Commonwealth waters, approximately 230 km north-west of the Kimberley coastline, at its closest point. Water depths at the proposed well locations range between 235 m and 275 m at lowest astronomical tide (LAT). The closest major town is Derby, located approximately 390 km south of the southern boundary of the Project area.
The Project will drill the initial (top-hole and mid-hole) sections of the wells, and will then suspend (i.e. plug) the wells and leave the area. The Project will not penetrate the hydrocarbon reservoir and will not undertake well-testing or completion. The Project is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2015 and is anticipated to be approximately 12 months in duration.
