The Woollybutt Field is located approximately 80 km off the northwest coast of Western Australia in Lease Area WA-25-L. The Field is approximately 25 km west of the Barrow Island Marine Management Area and Marine Park boundary, and more than 50 km south-west of the Montebello Islands Marine Park.
The Woollybutt Field is presently shut-in. The scope of the EP covers field management activities, plug and abandonment of four to six wells, and recovery of subsea production equipment within permit WA-25-L.
Field management activities include tree cleaning, and periodic inspection surveys in accordance with the Integrity Management Plan. Each inspection survey is 7-14 days in duration. Tree cleaning takes 15-20 days and will be undertaken as a once-off campaign before P&A. Only one project vessel will be in the Operational Area at any one time during field management activities.
Plug and abandonment (P&A) will take approximately 10-30 days per well and is targeting an execution window of the H2 2021 with completion by 31 December 2021. P&A will be conducted from an Intervention Vessel/MODU, with up to three support vessels.
Following P&A, a number of subsea production equipment will be recovered, including the disconnectable single point mooring buoy, subsea structures and mid-depth gravity riser base. Equipment recovery will be undertaken within the execution window nominated for P&A. Remaining infrastructure will be maintained and subject to field management until decommissioning, which will be assessed under a separate decommissioning EP.
