Woodside Energy Ltd (Woodside) is operator of the Okha Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility, located in Commonwealth waters approximately 135 km north-west of Karratha, Western Australia. The Okha facility comprises the Okha FPSO vessel and associated subsea infrastructure located in the Production Licences WA-16-L, WA-9-L, WA-11-L. Additional infrastructure within the scope of this EP includes a 32 km Gas Export Line (WA-4-PL) tied back to the FPSO and four temporarily abandoned exploration wells. The four temporarily abandoned exploration wells are located in Petroleum Titles WA-9-L, WA-16-L, WA-5-L and WA-3-L and are not tied back to the FPSO. The Okha FPSO currently produces oil and gas from 13 production wells in the Cossack, Wanaea, Lambert and Hermes (CWLH) fields. The CWLH fields contain light crude oil with varying gas-to-oil ratios. Oil from the Okha FPSO is dispatched to trading tankers and gas produced is exported onshore for processing. Operations at the Okha FPSO may include:
• production and maintenance activities
• major projects involving refurbishment, modification, or major maintenance of the facility
• FPSO marine (disconnected) mode.
The Okha FSPO commenced production in September 2011 and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Supporting operations, such as maintenance activities, take place as required. The CWLH fields are predicted to remain active during the life of this EP.
The closest nearshore sensitive habitats to the Okha FPSO are the Glomar Shoals (33 km north-east), Montebello Commonwealth Marine Reserve (72 km south-west), Rankin Bank (86 km west), and the Dampier Commonwealth Marine Reserve (88 km south-east). The water depth at the FPSO mooring location is 80 m, with wells located in water depths up to 129 m. The depths along the export pipeline range from 80 m at its eastern end (Okha FPSO) to 125 m at its western end (North Rankin Complex).
