Chevron Australia Pty Ltd (CAPL) has completed its Exmouth Plateau / Greater Gorgon Deepwater Drilling Program (drilling program) in 2016. The drilling program included a variety of activities including exploration drilling, well testing and well abandonment activities. In total, the drilling program (completed under previous versions of this Environment Plan [EP]) drilled and abandoned seven exploration wells between 2013 and 2016.
During abandonment most of the wellheads were recovered, however, three wellheads remain in situ. CAPL has revised this EP to evaluate the impacts and risks associated with permanently leaving the wellhead of these three wells in-situ.
