Woodside is preparing an Environment Plan for the Pluto-3, Pluto-6 and Xeres-1A wellheads, located in Commonwealth waters, approximately 175 km north west of Dampier in Western Australia.
In December 2005 Woodside drilled the appraisal well Pluto-3. Pluto-3 was a vertical appraisal well commissioned by Woodside. Successful plug and abandonment activities l were completed in March 2006.The Pluto-6 appraisal well was drilled in April 2007. Pluto-6 was a deviated appraisal well. Successful completion of plug and abandonment activities for the Pluto-6 well were completed in May 2007.Xeres-1A well was drilled as a vertical exploration well in June 2011. Successful completion of plug and abandonment activities occurred in June 2011.
Woodside has left and proposes to continue to leave the Pluto-3, Pluto-6 and Xeres-1A appraisal wellheads in-situ permanently.
The Pluto-3, Pluto-6 and Xeres-1A wells are located in production licence WA-34-L. Pluto-3 is in 585 m water depth, Pluto-6 is in 1006 m water depth, and Xeres-1A is in 190 m water depth. The three wells are completely plugged and abandoned with wellheads remaining in place.
No field activities are required in association within this EP. A Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU), installation, support or other vessels will not be required as part of the proposed activity.
