Quadrant Energy proposes to drill the Driftwood-1 exploration well, located in Commonwealth permit area WA-320-P off the coast of Western Australia. This environment plan covers all jack-up mobile offshore drilling unit (MODU), support vessel and helicopter operations within the permit area. The primary reservoir target is oil. The exploration well will be plugged and abandoned (P&A) prior to MODU departure.
The well is located approximately 55 km northwest of Onslow, 50 km southwest of Barrow Island Marine Management Area and 65 km northeast of Muiron Islands Marine Management Area. Offshore islands within 35 kilometres of the well include Thevenard Island, Airlie Island and Rosily Island. The water depth at the well location is approximately 99 metres.
The estimated total duration of the activity is 32 days. The well may be drilled any time of the year until 31 December 2017.
